Our Vision
The vision of FBCS is for every believer to develop a personal relationship with God, be transformed into Christ disciples while bearing witness to the truth of the gospel, and be empowered by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, by faith and the power of God, equip saints to do the work of the ministry (Isaiah 61:1-4, Ephesians 4). With that in mind, we seek to live lives of victory in Christ Jesus according to Christ's mission-practices noted below:

Preaching & Evangelism
Preaching is declaring God’s truth about Jesus to the praise of the Lord’s name. We are required and empowers all of us to share the good news of Christ with others. When the gospel is shared, people get saved, and the church grows (Acts 4: 10-13; Romans 10: 13-15).
Evangelism. Related to preaching, evangelism is sharing the gospel with those who are unsaved.

Teaching
Study of the Bible is essential to Christian growth. The Bible was written to encourage and to strengthen us (1 Corinthians 10: 11; 2 Timothy 2:15, 3:16).

Worship
To worship is to recognize God’s worthiness. We worship him in spirit and truth, focusing on the Lord (John 4:24). The elements of worship (both public and private) are outlined in Colossians 3: 16. Our primary worship service is at 10:00am on Sunday mornings (in-person and our virtual church-Zoom: Meeting ID: 857 1782 7734, Password: 030908 | Dial-in 1-929-205-6099

Service
All of us are called to serve, or to meet one another’s needs. As Christians, we are to care for and share with one another, meeting not only our spiritual needs, but also our day-to-day needs (Matthew 25: 34-40; John 13: 35; Romans 15:1; Galatians 6:10). There are numerous opportunities to serve the church.

Prayer
Jesus tells us a lot about prayer. He speaks about the importance of private and public prayer (Matthew 6: 5-15; Matthew 18: 19). We are always to pray (Luke 18: 1). Prayer works (James 5: 15, 16).

Missions
While ministry is one-to-one, missions is outreach to less fortunate communities. The first offering lifted each Sunday morning is for mission outreach.

Stewardship
We are called to give of our time, talents, and treasures (money). The Biblical standard of financial giving is the tithe, or 10% of our earnings (Malachi 3: 8-10; Matthew 23: 23). The Trustees provide envelopes to help us keep track of our financial offerings.

Fellowship
God has put us together as one body, with Christ as the head (Ephesians 4: 1-6). We cannot have a relationship with God without having a relationship with one another (1 John 1: 5-7).
The church has a number of fellowship activities, including our annual church outing in the summer.

Media
We are challenged to use every tool and method in sharing the gospel. Jesus stood on a mountain so that more people could hear him (Matthew 5:1).
We utilize the Internet via Facebook: Facebook.com/sussexbaptist & Zoom.
